Story Behind Super Fresh

Adam Boes and Heather Boes grew up and live in Austin, MN.  As brother and sister, they have many happy memories visiting Super Fresh as children, each discovering their sweet tooth.  In January 2024, they purchased Super Fresh from Jim and Merlene Stiles, who owned the store for 42 years.  Jim and Merlene’s friendship and support has been key to helping Adam and Heather continue this proud Austin tradition.

In addition to providing the Austin and surrounding communities with fresh, locally sourced foods and snack items, bakery items made in-store each morning, quality flowers, plants, and garden center items, Super Fresh is committed to serving as good stewards of our environment.  They recycle cardboard, paper, plastic, metal, and aluminum.  They also compost their food waste with local farmers.  Their rain gardens capture 5,000 gallons of rain with each rain event helping to keep our rivers clean.  In 2014, Super Fresh discontinued the use of single-use plastic bags and, to date, have eliminated 156,000 plastic bags.
